Liverpool eye semi-final berth against Manchester City in Champions League quarter-final 2nd leg

Liverpool vs Manchester City
Liverpool will play Manchester City on Tuesday night in the Champions League
Liverpool are set to play Manchester City away on Tuesday night in 2017/18 Champions League quarter-final 2nd leg. The Reds go into this game as the favorites.

Kick-off : 7:45 PM (Local)

Venue : Etihad Stadium, Manchester

Liverpool had a disappointing weekend as they played out a goalless draw against Everton away. But a draw on Tuesday against City would be enough in the UCL.

The Reds had a wonderful game against Manchester City last Wednesday as they triumphed 3-0 and would like to carry the same form ahead.

Domestically Liverpool are 3rd in the Premier League and are assured a top four finish and Champions League qualification for next season. But if they can win in Europe this season it will be a huge boost.

On the other hand, Manchester City suffered another heart-breaking loss back to back at the weekend. This time arch rivals Man United spoiled the party especially Paul Pogba and now City will have to wait one week more to be crowned PL champions.

But in the UCL last week’s loss to Liverpool is what is now of concern as the two clubs meet again with City hoping to overturn the 0-3 deficit. Though it looks tough but Man City will be desperate for European success along with domestic.

Team news and possible line-ups

Benjamin Mendy will not be available for City for Tuesday’s game as due to injury.

As for Liverpool, Jordan Henderson will not be available as due to suspension. While Adam Lallana, Emre Can and Joel Matip will be unavailable as due to injury.

Manchester City XI : Ederson, Walker, Otamendi, Kompany, Danilo, De Bruyne, Fernandinho, Silva, Sterling, Aguero, Sane.

Liverpool XI : Karius, Alexander-Arnold, Lovren, Van Dijk, Robertson, Wijnaldum, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Milner, Salah, Firmino, Mane.

Prediction

I think Manchester City will win this game 2-1 but Liverpool will progress to the semi’s.
