In second game of 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar Uruguay take on South Korea as Group H kicks-off

Two-time world champions Uruguay kickstart their 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar campaign as they take on Asian heavyweights South Korea on Thursday in Group H. Uruguay start this game as the favourites.

Kick-off : 4:00 PM (Local)

Venue : Education City Stadium, Al Rayyan

Uruguay know they are not playing that much quality football as they are capable of in world cups this century and will take inspiration from the World Cup winning teams from the last century to lift the trophy.

La Celeste have had some surprising results this year but they will follow the winning template. They defeated Canada before the World Cup in a friendly in Slovakia.

Manager Diego Alonso might us a 4-3-3 system against South Korea.

On the other hand, South Korea themselves have been World Cup regulars and have had success but have not won it, they will look towards giant leaps.

The Taeguk Warriors had an overall good year this one with positive results and they will look to follow the winning template. They last won against Iceland 1-0 in a friendly before the World Cup.

Son Heung-min is doubtful for South Korea ahead of this opening fixture with Uruguay.

As for La Celeste, Ronald Araujo is a doubt. While Sergio Rochet is available and likely play.

Prediction

Expect Uruguay to get the job done in this tough group unless South Korea come up with something special. Uruguay to win 2-0.
