FIFA World Cup 2022 – Argentina vs France, Final, match preview, predicted lineups

Arg vs Fra
It’s time for the World Cup final as Argentina take on defending champions France

Argentina take on France in the FIFA World Cup 2022 final on Sunday as the tournament comes to a close. Both teams start as favourites.

Kick-off : 6:00 PM (Local)

Venue : Lusail Stadium, Lusail

Argentina will have hopes of Messi finally lifting it for the first time as they hope to lift their 3rd world cup trophy after Maradona’s 1986 triumph. They will look to play their brand of football.

La Albiceleste were good in their previous game against the Croatian side and completely overhauled them and this is exactly the mindset that they need to clean up France. They need to back their defence while in the final third they have the magic man.

They will probably lineup in a 4-4-2 formation.

France, on the other hand have aspirations of their own. They are looking for back-to-back world titles. A feat so rarely achieved by the great Italian and Brazilian teams. They too will have to play their brand of football.

Les Bleus outplayed Morocco in their semifinal and will need to be clinical against Argentina. They need to be rock solid defensively and make chances up front. They need to be at their best.

Manager Deschamps will align them in a 4-2-3-1.

Team news and possible lineups

Alejandro Gomez is doubtful for Argentina ahead of the world cup final.

Argentina XI : Martinez, Molina, Romero, Otamendi, Acuna, De Paul, Fernandez, Mac Allister, Di Maria, Messi, Alvarez.

France XI : Lloris, Kounde, Varane, Upamecano, T. Hernandez, Tchouameni, Dembele, Rabiot, Griezmann, Mbappe, Giroud.

Prediction

I think it should have all ingredients for a fascinating contest given what’s at stake. But definitely Argentina with Messi have special expectations and it is what will propel them to another world cup win. La Albiceleste to win 2-1.
