Brazil on track for upcoming Copa America on their home soil

Brazil vs Honduras
Brazil thrashed Honduras 7-0 yesterday in an international friendly
Brazil will be confident going into the upcoming Copa America as they delivered a fantastic win over Honduras yesterday registering a 7-0 win. They will now look forward to their opening 2019 Copa America match on the 14th.

The Selecao are in bit of a comfortable group in the Copa America as their opponents are Venezuela, Bolivia and Peru. So they will look to get the maximum points moving forward in their quest of lifting the title.

Brazil played two international friendlies in the ongoing international window and got two right registering wins over Qatar and Honduras. Qatar were a bit more challenging then Honduras but still players got good match practice.

The 7-0 win over Honduras is special in terms of the style of play which was dominating as a result of which Honduras were outplayed. Coach Tite and everyone should take inspiration and play similarly against the likes of Peru.

In Brazil’s hammering of Honduras six different scores were on the scoresheet. Gabriel Jesus score twice. While the other goalscorers included Philippe Coutinho, Thiago Silva, David Neres, Roberto Firmino and Richarlison.

The test comes now as the friendlies are gone now and it’s time for performance. Brazil’s Copa America performances in the last three editions (including Copa America Centenario) have not been good and their is scope of improvement.

To their standards they haven’t won the last three editions and they will be keen to perform this year in front of their home supporters and register a Copa America win after 12 long years. They last won in 2007.

Brazil will have competitions in this tournament from teams like their arch rivals Argentina, Uruguay and Chile (won the 2015 and 2016 edition). It’s nothing new for them and quality football is needed.

Best of luck to Brazil and their passionate supporters for the upcoming Copa America tournament.
