Chelsea host Arsenal on Wednesday in the Premier League

Chelsea host Arsenal on Wednesday in 2021/22 Premier League as the season nears it’s conclusion. The Blues start this game as the favourites.

Kick-Off : 7:45 PM (Local)

Venue : Stamford Bridge, London

The Blues come into this game on the back of a wonderful display in the FA Cup, where they are in the final. Although they would be disappointed with the Champions League exit.

Chelsea require points to seal their top four position this season which is almost assured. The Blues are currentlythird in the points table with 62 points from 30 games. They have eight games remain in the Premier League.

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel will most likely utilise the 3-4-1-2 system against The Gunners. The Blues need to score enough goals and try to keep a clean sheet.

On the other hand, Arsenal are having a poor run of form in April and hopefully it will not show up in the London derby. They will look to play quality football in their quest for a finish in the Champions League spots

The Gunners are currently fifth in the points table with 54 points from 31 games. They trail fourth placed Tottenham Hotspur by three points with a game in hand.

Boss Mikel Arteta will likely utilise a 4-2-3-1 system as Chelsea are arch rivals. The Gunners will look to defend well to not concede as well score to be in the driving seat.

Team news and possible lineups

Mateo Kovacic will not be available for Chelsea for the Arsenal game as due to injury.

As for The Gunners, Alexandre Lacazette tested positive for COVID-19 and won’t be available.

Chelsea XI : Mendy, James, Silva, Rudiger, Azpilicueta, Kante, Jorginho, Alonso, Mount, Werner, Lukaku.

Arsenal XI : Ramsdale, Cedric, White, Gabriel, Tavares, Xhaka, Lokonga, Saka, Odegaard, Smith Rowe, Martinelli.

Prediction

Given Arsenal recent string of poor results away from home, The Blues should be able to win it, maybe 2-0.
