Chelsea is set to play Atletico Madrid on Wednesday night in the UEFA Champions League. The Blues go into this game as the favorites.

Kick-off : 8:45 PM (Local)

Venue : Wanda, Metropolitano, Madrid

The reigning Premier League champions will look to extend their unbeaten run on Wednesday night when they play Atletico Madrid.

Chelsea cruised to a six nil victory over Qarabag in their opening fixture but will have to face a more sterner test against Atletico Madrid.

Atletico were held 1-1 by Roma in their first Champions League game this season. So will look to win their next fixture.

The Blues after loosing their first Premier League to Burnley this season are on a roll. They will need to continue their current form on Wednesday.


Team news and possible line-ups

Atletico Madrid rested Juanfran and Diego Godin were rested at the weekend but should be recalled into the side for Wednesday’s game.

Thomas Partey is also pushing for a recall into the starting XI and will replace Yannick Carrasco against Chelsea.

Fernando Torres and Filipe Luis are both available for Wednesday’s game.

As for Chelsea, Thibout Courtois is available and will play against his former club. Danny Drinkwater will not be available for Wednesday’s game due to injury.

Eden hazard is available and will get a place in the starting XI.

Atletico Madrid XI : Oblak , Juanfran, Savic, Godin, Luis, Saul, Gabi, Partey, Koke, Griezmann, Vietto.

Chelsea XI : Courtois, Azpilicueta, Luiz, Cahill, Moses, Bakayoko, Kante, Alonso, Hazard, Pedro, Morata.

Prediction

While it’s not a given that Chelsea are going to win on Wednesday night, but they certainly are the favorites going into this game. All in all it should be a good game on Wednesday. I expect Chelsea to win 2-1 against Atleico Madrid.
