Big guns Barcelona and Chelsea eye progression to the quarter-finals

Barcelona vs Chelsea
Barcelona will play Chelsea on Wednesday night in the 2nd leg of the Champions League round of 16 tie
Barcelona are set to play Chelsea on Wednesday in the 2nd leg of their Champions League round of 16 tie. Both teams will be looking for a win.

Kick-off : 8:45 PM (Local)

Venue : Camp Nou, Barcelona

Barca and Chelsea drew 1-1 with each other back in February in the first leg at Stamford Bridge. Willian and Lionel Messi were the respective goalscorers.

Barcelona certainly have the away goal advantage and a goalless draw will do it for them while Chelsea would be looking to score at least a goal.

The Blues are not in a great form at the moment having succumbed to defeats against Man United and Man City in recent weeks in the Premier League. But will be hoping for success against Barcelona in the Champions League.

On the other hand, The Blaugrana are in quite good form at the moment domestically and will be desperate to have success on the continental level.

Chelsea though lead the head to head against Barcelona having won thrice and loosing twice out of the 11 matches played between them. Six games have ended in a draw.

Team news and possible line-ups

David Luiz, Ross Barkley and Tiemoue Bakayoko are all doubtful for Chelsea ahead of the Wednesday night game.

As for Barcelona, Andres Iniesta and Nelson Semedo are doubts. While Philippe Coutinho is ineligible for this game.

Chelsea XI : Courtois, Azpilicueta, Cahill, Zappacosta, Alonso, Fabregas, Drinkwater, Kante, Morata, Hazard, Pedro.

Barcelona XI : Ter Stegen, Pique, J. Alba, L. Digne, Umtiti, Rakitic, S. Busquets, Paulinho, Coutinho, Suarez, Messi.

Prediction

It should be a closely fought game between two of the world’s biggest clubs. The team which commits less mistakes on the night should be able to progress ahead.
