Liverpool will take on Aston Villa on Tuesday in 2019/20 Carabao Cup as the tournament moves ahead. The Reds go into this game as the favourites.

Liverpool are having a good season. The would want to win all the trophies literally and they will work hard for it. So is the Carabao Cup.

The Reds face Aston Villa in their Carabao Cup assignment, which is a quarter-final. We need to remember Jurgen Klopp will not be managing this U-23 side who will be in Qatar for the club World Cup with the seniors.

So Neil Critchley will have to put a XI which is capable of defeating Aston Villa in their own backyard. Liverpool have got all the quality in the world.

Critchley will have a game plan of attacking Aston Villa from the word go and have the target of a clean sheet in mind. Liverpool will have to play Liverpool’s brand of football.

On the other hand, Aston Villa are not having a great season overall but have done well to reach where they have reached in the Carabao Cup.

Aston Villa will eye success over Liverpool in Birmingham. They will try to reach the semi-finals of the competition.

It should be a tough game given the reputation of Liverpool as one of the big six clubs in England.

Dean Smith will tell his players to play out a game in which they have a solid defence sitting deep. Attacking Liverpool on counters will be their work. It should be a good game.

Liverpool have a good record against Aston Villa and they will be boasted by the fact.
