Arsenal eye progression to quarter-finals of 2018/19 UEFA Europa League as they host Rennes in round of 16 2nd Leg

Arsenal vs Rennes
Arsenal will play Rennes on Thursday in the Europa League
Arsenal will play Rennes on Thursday in 2018/19 UEFA Europa League round of 16 second leg as the season moves ahead. The Gunners go into this game as the favourites.

Kick-off : 8:00 PM (Local)

Venue : Emirates Stadium, London

Arsenal will be extremely disappointed with their performance in the first leg where they lost in France. But will still be hopeful of progression as they are the bigger side. Most importantly they got an away goal.

Arsenal know they need to score at least a couple of goals while conceding none in order to progress. But they will look for a more comfortable and resounding win over Rennes. For that though they will need to play some quality football.

It won’t be easy but The Gunners will bring their A game into play.

On the other hand, Rennes will be delighted with their first leg efforts and will look to continue playing positive football.

They know it won’t be easy at The Emirates but they just need to get an away and hopefully doesn’t concede much then they will be through. Rennes will be hoping to play their best football.

Team news and possible line-ups

Ludovic Baal, Romain Danze, Abdoulaye Diallo, Rafik Guitane, Jakob Johansson and Siebatcheu will all be not available for Rennes for the Arsenal game as due to injuries.

As for The Gunners, Hector Bellerin, Rob Holding and Danny Welbeck will all be unavailable as due to injuries.

Rennes XI : Koubek, Traore, Da Silva, Mexer, Bensebaini, Andre, Grenier, Sarr, Ben Arfa, Bourigeaud, Niang.

Arsenal XI : Cech, Maitland-Niles, Koscielny, Mustafi, Kolasinac, Guendouzi, Torreira, Mkhitaryan, Ozil, Iwobi, Aubameyang.

Prediction

It should be a good game as both teams will give their all. But Arsenal should in the end be able to progress to the next round. They might win 4-0.
