Afghanistan tour of Zimbabwe 2022 – 2nd ODI, match preview, predicted lineups

Zim vs AFG
Zimbabwe will take on Afghanistan in the second one-dayer tomorrow in Harare

Zimbabwe will take on Afghanistan in second ODI of the three-match series tomorrow as the series moves ahead. Both teams will be looking for a win here.

Date & Time : 6th June 2022, 9:15 AM (Local)

Venue : Harare Sports Club, Harare

Zimbabwe lost their first fixture of the ongoing series to Afghanistan by 60 runs as they didn’t bat well. They will need to bounce back to remain in the series with the final ODI on June 9. They will have to play quality cricket.

The Zimbabwean side in recent matches have not been able to do ideally with both the bat and ball despite being good. They would want to improve upon that.

Captain Craig Ervine will have to be tactically good tomorrow giving Afghanistan nothing by batting well and containing while bowling.

On the other hand, Afghanistan will be very happy with their performance on the tour so far winning the first game and in commanding position. They will look to play quality cricket.

The Afghan side have good players with good batters and bowlers. They have done well with bat and bowl in recent games. They would though want to be more clinical and up their game.

Hashmatullah Shahidi will want their players to just bring their A game once more in the series and get the job done tomorrow.

Team news and possible lineups

There are no fresh injury concerns for both sides at the moment.

Zimbabwe XI : Kaia, Chakabva (WK), Ervine (C), Madhevere, Raza, Shumba, Burl, Tiripano, Chatara, Muzarabani, Chivanga.

Afghanistan XI : Gurbaz (WK), I. Zadran, R. Shah, Shahidi (C), Nabi, N. Zadran, R. khan, Omarzai, Farooqi, M. Ur Rahman, F. Ahmad.

Prediction

Afghanistan start as favourites and I expect them to get the job done taking an unassailable lead 2-0.
