Tata IPL 2022 – RR vs RCB, Qualifier 2, match preview, predicted lineups

RR vs RCB
Match no. 73 of IPL 2022 between RR and RCB takes place today

Rajasthan Royals play Royal Challengers Bangalore in qualifier 2 of the playoffs in Tata IPL 2022 as the season nears it’s conclusion. Both teams will be looking for a win here to make it to the final.

Date & Time : 27th May 2022, 7:30 PM IST

Venue : Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad

Rajasthan Royals lost their previous game against finalists Gujarat Titans by 7 wickets and courtesy of their top two finish are again getting a shot at the finals, they must make it count playing their brand of cricket.

RR know that Bangalore are a tough team to play against and they will have to be at it all the time. Kumar Sangakkara and team management will have to find the right combinations.

Batting wise RR look settled with Orange cap holder Jos Buttler in form and players like Samson, Hetmyer & Paddikal to follow. Bowling wise they have Purple cap holder Chahal in their lineup apart from experienced Ashwin and Trent Boult.

On the other hand, Royal Challengers Bangalore were lucky enough to make it to the playoffs and now they have shown their class ousting Lucknow Super Giants in the Eliminator by 14 runs. They look a confident side moving ahead and amongst the favourites to clinch their maiden IPL title.

RCB batted clinically against a solid LSG bowling and this is their brand of cricket and it should be their way against Rajasthan as well. Score 200+ if bat first and try to bowl out teams.

In the batting department their are captain Faf du Plessis along with century maker Patidar, Kohli, Maxwell and Dinesh Karthik. In the bowling they have in form classy Hasaranga, reliable Hazlewood & miserly Harshal Patel.

In terms of the head to head, RCB are ahead 13-11 against RR out of the 27 games played with 3 no-results.

For the wicket, it’s a batting friendly deck with good bowlers mainly spinners reaping rewards too.

Team news and possible lineups

There are no fresh injury concerns for both sides at the moment.

RR XI : Jaiswal, Buttler, Samson (C&WK), Paddikal, Hetmyer, Parag, R. Ashwin, Boult, P. Krishna, Chahal, McCoy.

RCB XI : F. du Plessis (C), Kohli, Patidar, Maxwell, Lomror, D. Karthik, S. Ahmed, Hasaranga, H. Patel, Siraj, Hazlewood.

Prediction

For me it depends a lot on toss with teams looking to chase.
