Real Madrid and Manchester United meet in the UEFA Super Cup

UEFA Super Cup Final 2017
Real Madrid and Manchester United play each other in Skopje for the UEFA Super Cup Final 2017
Real Madrid and Manchester United are set to play each other on Tuesday night as they meet in the UEFA Super Cup Final.

Kick-off : 20:45 CEST

Venue : Philip II Arena, Skopje

Referee : Gianluca Rocchi

Real Madrid will be playing their second successive Super Cup Final as they have won the UEFA Champions League twice in a row. In the last Super Cup they met Sevilla in the final and won it.

The recent results have not been so impressive in the pre-season for Real. They will be looking to improve on that performance as the new season begins. More silverware is what Real Madrid will be looking for.

Real have been scoring in almost all games in recent times, which is a record they would be proud of. They would want to continue this trend against mighty Manchester United. Cristiano Ronaldo will not be featuring in this game and Gareth Bale should replace him.

Manchester United on the other hand under Jose Mourinho will be looking to make a statement. They have well adjusted with the services of Romelu Lukaku, Victor Lindelof and Nemanja Matic.

The forward line of Man United which includes Marcus Rashford and Lukaku is intimidating for opposing defenses. Matic and Pogba will be looking to impose on the Madrid midfield. Real have to be good in combating the physical play of United.

We should expect an exciting match as both managers will be looking to get one over each other. The season has begun and the expectations for trophies for both clubs awaits.

Possible Line-ups :-

Real Madrid : Navas, Varane, Carvajal, Ramos, Marcelo, Casemiro, Modric, Kroos, Isco, Benzema, Bale.

Manchester United : De Gea, Lindelof, Smalling, Valencia, Blind, Matic, Herrera, Pogba, Mkhitaryan, Lukaku, Rashford.

Prediction

I expect it to go all the way. But if I were to choose one winner I would go for a Real Madrid win. They have been winning consecutive Champions League Finals and Manchester United didn’t play in last season’s Champions League.
