Arsenal take on Manchester City on Wednesday in Premier League 2022/23 as the season moves ahead. Both teams will be looking for a win here.

Arsenal have been top this season with them being on top of the points table as of now. They will be hoping to win games as they come. Arsenal are currently 1st in the points table with 51 points after 21 games. The goal difference is a +28.

The Gunners have been scoring and they will aim for being clinical up front. Defensively they will aim for a clean sheet against a solid Man City side.

Boss Arteta will likely deploy a 4-3-3 system.

On the other hand, Manchester City have not been at their best this season and will be looking to make amends. They are currently 2nd in the points table after 22 games with 48 points. The goal difference is a +34.

City will have to attack like they always do. While at the back they will require to be keeping a solid backline with no mistakes.

Boss Guardiola will use his 3-2-4-1 system on Wednesday.

Team news and possible lineups

John Stones is injured for Manchester City for midweek game and will not be available. While Erling Braut Haaland is doubtful.

As for The Gunners, Mohamed Elneny is injured and won’t be available.

Arsenal XI : Ramsdale, White, Saliba, Gabriel, Zinchenko, Xhaka, Partey, Saka, Odegaard, Martinelli, Jesus.

Manchester City XI : Ederson, Lewis, Dias, Laporte, Ake, De Bruyne, Rodri, Gundogan, Mahrez, Haaland, Grealish.

Prediction

I think it should be a good contest between two great sides. Given the battle for the top of the table it should be fought generously. In the end I think Arsenal and City would both play out a stalemate, maybe 1-1.
