Liverpool eye three points against Stoke at home in the Premier League

Liverpool vs Stoke City
Liverpool will play Stoke City on Saturday in the Premier League
Liverpool are set to play Stoke on Saturday in the Premier League as the season nears it’s conclusion. The Reds go into this game as the favorites.

Kick-off : 12:30 PM (Local)

Venue : Anfield, Liverpool

Liverpool did pretty well on Tuesday in the Champions League as they comprehensively defeated Roma in the semi-final first leg at home. Mohamed Salah was prolific as usual. But the Reds have a Premier League fixture sandwiched in between the two UCL legs and the focus must shift as needed.

Liverpool are at present third in the Premier League after 35 games with 71 points. They are all but certain to finish in the top four but need to be careful and should look to get the job done. Spurs and Chelsea are behind and chasing them.

On the other hand, Stoke City are in danger of being relegated as they are struggling in the league with just 29 points from 35 games and are 19th. Stoke have been unbeaten in their last two Premier League games and will be hoping for a positive result on Saturday.

Liverpool lead the head to head against Stoke having won 77 games compared to the Potters’s 40. While 36 other games have ended in a draw.

Team news and possible line-ups

Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and Konstantinos Stafylidis are both doubtful for Stoke for the weekend game.

As for Liverpool, Nathaniel Clyne is a doubt. While Emre Can, Adam Lallana, Joel Matip and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will all be unavailable as due to injury.

Stoke City XI : Butland, Johnson, Shawcross, Martins Indi, Pieters, Shaqiri, Allen, Ndiaye, Bauer, Sobhi, Diouf.

Liverpool XI : Karius, Gomez, Lovren, Klavan, Moreno, Wijnaldum, Milner, Henderson, Salah, Solanke, Mane.

Prediction

I expect Liverpool to get the job done and earn three points. I think they will win 3-1.
