FIFA World Cup 2022 – Morocco vs Croatia, Group F, match preview, predicted lineups

Mar vs Cro
In first game on Wednesday in FIFA World Cup 2022 Qatar Morocco face Croatia

African side Morocco take on Croatia in the first game of Wednesday in FIFA World Cup 2022 as the tournament moves ahead. Croatia go into this game as the favourites.

Kick-off : 1:00 PM (Local)

Venue : Al Bayt Stadium, Al Khor

Croatia the runners-up of the last edition of FIFA World Cup 2018 will look to go one step further this time around as they begin their campaign on Wednesday. They will look to play quality football.

The Checkered Ones overall have been in fantastic form of late this year and they would love to follow the same template. They defeated Saudi Arabia in November friendly.

Boss Zlatko Dalic will likely use his 4-3-3 formation against the Morrocans.

On the other hand, Morocco have been at world cups before and they will give a much better attempt at it now.

The Atlas Lions have had a successful year this one and they will strategize according to higher ranked world cup teams. They won their previous fixture earlier this month against Georgia 3-0.

Manager Walid Regragui might utilise a 4-3-3 system on Wednesday to tackle the Croatians.

Team news and possible lineups

Sofyan Amrabat is available for Morocco for the Croatia game and will play.

As for the Croats, Josip Stanisic is available and will likely play.

Croatia XI : Livakovic, Stanisic, Lovren, Gvardiol, Barisic, Modric, Brozovic, Kovacic, Vlasic, Petkovic, Perisic.

Morocco XI : Bono, Hakimi, Saiss, Aguerd, Mazraoui, Ounahi, Amrabat, Amallah, Ziyech, En-Nesyri, Boufal.

Prediction

I Think Croatia have an upper hand in this encounter evitable by their runner-up tag from the last world cup. Morocco will have to give their all in case it has to be a reverse outcome. So to be safe I think a 2-1 win for the Croats.
