Defending Champions Chelsea take on Burnley at home

Chelsea vs Burnley
Chelsea kick start their 2017/18 campaign hosting Burnley
Chelsea will be kick starting their new season against Burnley at Stamford Bridge. The Blues will be eyeing all the three points to propel their campaign.

Kick-off : 2:00 PM (Local)

Venue : Stamford Bridge, London

Referee : Craig Pawson

Chelsea are favorites against Burnley especially playing at home but Conte has plenty of things to figure out. Their are injury concerns for the Chelsea boss.

Eden Hazard will not be available for some time and Alvaro Morata could play in his place. Although Chelsea already have Pedro and Willian, two players better suited to playing on the plank.

Antonio Rudiger shall feature in the Chelsea defense on Saturday getting the first taste of Premier League. Cesar Azpilicueta could replace Victor Moses out wide.

As for Burnley, they were quite outstanding in the 2016/17 season, showing resilience against the top clubs. The Clarets under Sean Dyche made it difficult for the best teams in the Premier League.

Burnley will now be weakened as Keane and Gray now play elsewhere. Keane along with goalkeeper Tom Heaton were key protagonists in upsets last season.

The Clarets made five summer signings, including Jack Cork and Charlie Taylor. John Walters could replace Andre Gray up front.

One more thing the Clarets will have against them is the record of loosing on opening day fixtures of their new season.

Chelsea Boss Antonio Conte said “We are trying to improve. It’s simple. I am the coach of this team and my aim is to improve my players and my team.”

Possible line-ups :-

Chelsea : Courtois, Rudiger, Luiz, Cahill, Azpilicueta, Kante, Fabregas, Alonso, Willian, Batshuayi, Pedro.

Burnley : Heaton, Lowton, Tarkowski, Mee, Taylor, Brady, Hendrick, Cork, Arfield, Walters, Vokes.

Prediction

No doubt Chelsea are the favorites in this game but since they are missing some key players it should be interesting. I am predicting Chelsea to win 2-0.
