Brazil vs Argentina – International Friendly Preview

Brazil vs Argentina
Argentina and Brazil will play each other in Australia
Brazil and Argentina are set to go head to head on Friday in an international friendly at the MCG. Both teams will be looking for a victory in the Superclasico.

Jorge Sampaoli’s tenure will begin with Friday’s game against the South American rivals. He has insisted that his team should play like Barcelona, so as to get the best out of star men Leo Messi.

“The generational replacements (in the team) will be done with time,” said Sampaoli at his pre-match press conference. “It will be gradual & consistent with what the national team needs.”

“We have to find something in Argentina that is similar with Barcelona’s style of play for Messi to perform better.”

“Messi & Dybala are very important for Argentina. Messi has exceded my expectations. He’s very simple & humble, he’s a positive leader.”

Jorge Sampaoli is no stranger to international football as he guided Chile to their first Copa America success. Argentina will be requiring his all this experience.

Sampaoli could try a 3-4-2-1 formation in Australia with Messi & Dybala playing behind Higuain. Although he admits to remain open minded about his starting line-up.

“We still haven’t decided on the team,” he added.

“Putting the rivalry aside, the important thing is our development of our idea, not being afraid.”

“The midfield is the determining factor in the idea behind our game.”

Brazil on the other hand, being already qualified for next year’s world cup have named a strong squad. Tite though have given time off to a number of Brazil regulars, like Neymar, Liverpool’s forward Firmino & defenders Dani Alves, Marcelo and Marquinhos.

Liverpool forward Phillipe Cotinho have been included as have the Chelsea duo of David Luiz & Willian. Manchester City pair of Fernandinho & Gabriel Jesus have also been included.

New signing of Man City, Ederson could miss out after leaving the squad for the birth of his daughter.

All in all, this should be a great game for football fans across the globe. It is hard to predict the outcome of this match.
