UEFA Nations League 2022/23 – Italy vs Hungary, match preview, predicted lineups

Ita vs Hun
Match no. 43 of Nations League 2022/23 between Italy and Hungary takes place today

Italy take on Hungary in both of theirs second game of UEFA Nations League 2022/23 as the tournament moves ahead. Both teams will be looking for a win here.

Kick-off : 8:45 PM (Local)

Venue : Stadio Dino Manuzzi, Cesena

Italy drew their first game of Nations League 2022/23 courtesy of Lorenzo Pelligrini’s 70th minute goal against the Germans who also equalised 3 minutes later though Joshua Kimmich.

The Gli Azzurri must look to beat a lighter team in Hungary now as England Germany games await in June. They will have to play their regular football i.e their brand of football.

Boss Roberto Mancini will deploy the regular 4-3-3 on Tuesday at home emphasising on a solid defence and a good goal scoring platform.

On the other hand, Hungary started off in a fantasy way as they defeated mighty England at home 1-0 courtesy of Dominik Szoboszlai to register their first three points in the tough group.

The Magyars know Italy will be a very difficult team at home and they must be at their toes to snatch a point. They must play quality football.

Manager Marco Rossi will deploy his usual 3-4-2-1 formation to trouble the Italians. They will aim to keep a clean sheet and score.

Team news and possible lineups

Federico Chiesa, Ciro Immobile & Nicolo Zaniolo are all injured for Italy and hence won’t be available. While Wilfried Gnonto is available and likely play.

As for the Hungarians, there are no fresh injury concerns.

Italy XI : Donnarumma, Florenzi, Mancini, Bastoni, Biraghi, Cristante, Tonali, Frattesi, Politano, Scamacca, Raspadori.

Hungary XI : Gulacsi, Lang, Orban, A. Szalai, Nego, A. Nagy, Schafer, S. Nagy, Sallai, Szoboszalai, Szalai.

Prediction

I expect this to be a tightly fought encounter and it might end 1-1.
