NEW vs LIV
Newcastle United will host Liverpool on Saturday in the Premier League

Liverpool take on Newcastle United on Saturday in 2021/22 Premier League as the season nears it’s conclusion. Both teams will be looking for a win here.

Kick-off : 12:30 PM (Local)

Venue : St. James’ Park, Newcastle

Liverpool are winning recently and they will take that confidence going into this game as they vie for the summit.

The Reds are currently second in the points table after 33 matches with 79 points. They play Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League at home.

Manager Jurgen Klopp have been quite good with his tactics and will likely use the 4-3-3 system against Newcastle. They know it’s an away game and defending is crucial apart from good in the final third.

On the other hand, Newcastle United are having a good run in recent games and they will look to increase it as their campaign comes to a close. They will be eyeing qualifying places in the table.

The magpies are currently ninth in the points table after 34 games with 43 points. After Liverpool they have three games to against Man City, Arsenal and Burnley respectively.

Boss Eddie Howe loves the 4-3-3 system and he will use it against Liverpool. They kept the clean sheet against Norwich and the confidence must be up to defend against a strong PL team. They also will look to be creative with their scoring.

Team news and possible lineups

Roberto Firmino won’t be available for Liverpool for the weekend game.

As for Newcastle, Kieran Trippier, Callum Wilson, Jamal Lewis and Isaac Hayden are unavailable.

Liverpool XI : Alisson, Gomez, Matiz, Van Dijk, Robertson, Henderson, Fabinho, Keita, Salah, Mane, Jota.

Newcastle United XI : Dubravka, Krafth, Schar, Burn, Targett, Shelvey, Guimaraes, Joelinton, Almiron, Wood, Saint-Maximin.

Prediction

I expect it to be a close game given both teams recent forms but Liverpool should edge Newcastle in the end, maybe 3-1.
